Dr. Milton Musaba


Dr. Milton Musaba, an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, has 15-years clinical, academic, research and leadership experience in reproductive maternal and neonatal child health (RMNCH). Milton has grown in the ranks of the Ministry of Health to the level of Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist and he is currently Senior Lecturer and Head of Department at Busitema University Faculty of Health Sciences. Milton is an expert regional and international Master trainer in RMNCH, who has successfully completed a number of consultancies with several local, regional and international organisations. He is a council member of the association of Obstetricians and Gynaecologist (AOGU) representing eastern Uganda. He is also a fellow of the East and Central African Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologist and member of the Uganda Medical Association. Milton Musaba has published widely in reproductive maternal and neonatal child health. He has particular interest in identifying low-cost interventions that can be used in the intrapartum period to improve maternal and perinatal outcomes in low resource settings. His PhD work focused on improving maternal and perinatal outcomes among women with obstructed labour in eastern Uganda. As a clinician, he has excellent clinical and surgical skills with expertise in obstetric fistula surgery for which he has been recognized as a champion by UNFPA/MoH in Uganda and he leads the fistula program in the Elgon sub-region. Milton is a holder of an MBChB (Hons), MSc. International Primary Health Care, M.Med. Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Postgraduate Diploma in Project Planning and Management and a PhD. Milton is a result oriented clinical academician with diverse skills in RMNCH. His vision is to improve intrapartum care for all women in low resource settings.
