Chief Technologist



Mr. Paul Oboth is a public health specialist with professional training and experience in laboratory and malaria diagnosis. He holds a Bachelor of Biomedical Laboratory technology of Makerere University, Master of Public Health of Busitema University, Uganda and Health Professional Education Fellowship from SAFRI-FAIMER Cape Town, South Africa. He has fourteen years’ working experience as a Laboratory Specialist with AIDS Information Centre, Uganda; Infectious Diseases Institute Ltd and Busitema University, Faculty of Health Sciences.

Paul has trained and mentored health workers and other scientists in laboratory systems strengthening and he is committed in coordination of laboratory capacity building projects through training, mentorship, development of training programs and laboratory training manuals, guidelines and policies. He has provided laboratory International technical assistance in Swaziland especially strengthening Government labs in line with ISO 15I89 based on Stepwise Laboratory Improvement Process towards Accreditation (2013-2014), and in Malawi supported the review malaria curriculum for training health support assistants in Malawi (2013).

He has experience working with government-Ministry of Health, Civil Society Organizations, Community, Donors such as CDC, PMI, USAID, WHO, GFATM and Partners. Paul is also experienced in grants, proposal writing and project implementation to its conclusion.
